Yes

A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability at the municipal/local level, including the issues, legislation, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:

Due to our location in the Hudson Valley, ecological stewardship plays an important role in local and regional politics. In Spring of 2016, the course "All Politics is Local" provided students with an opportunity to interact, and make connections, with local politicians.

Yes

A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability at the state/provincial/regional level, including the issues, legislation, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:

The Center For Civic Engagement (CCE) supports students and aids in their participation through voting in local, state, and federal elections. 3 NYS BHSEC locations "...provide adolescents with a rigorous, credit-bearing, tuition-free college course of study in the liberal arts and sciences following the 9th and 10th grades." There are currently five other locations in as many states. Bard's mission, which prominently features sustainability, is present in this engagement.

Yes

A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability at the national level, including the issues, legislation, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:

President Botstein has a record of signing petitions and releasing statements on behalf of the college to motivate national political leaders.


Does the institution advocate for public policies that support campus sustainability or that otherwise advance sustainability at the international level?:
Yes

A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability at the international level, including the issues, legislation, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:

In 2015 Bard co-hosted and participated in a rally to show support for the recent Paris-summits. The goal was to show support for the commitment to the goals set by global leaders at COP21.

In Nov. 2011, President Botstein signed on to a Clean Air Cool Planet effort to advocate for federal agency funding for climate change science, mitigation and adaptation.
