Jacket Model Program and Residential Curriculum: Each semester, Resident Assistants (RA) are required to hold six programs for campus residents. Program themes are selected from a ‘Jacket Model’ with six sections, including an “Awareness” and “Service” sections and others relating to health, wellness, multicultural issues, and collegiate and professional development. On average, each hall provides two programs per category each semester. Environmental and sustainability programming are often incorporated into the “awareness”, "wellness" and “service” categories. There were a total of 36 programs under 3 categories, which lasted on average 1.04 hours each.

We have an eco-rep program and hire 6 eco-reps (one from each resident hall (5) plus an eco-rep lead). We have had a “commuter” student as an eco-rep lead in 2021-2022. These student leaders educate their peers on sustainable living and advocate for environmental awareness through campus events, social media, and stewardship. Eco-Reps complete the program with hands on experience in project management, public speaking, educational outreach, and leadership that will set them apart from others in their future endeavors. Eco-Reps will receive training in sustainability and program planning. Eco-Reps receive a $50 monthly stipend. Additionally, the lead Eco-Rep position helps to advise students in completion of their projects and initiatives to meet the requirements of the Eco-Rep program through programming, zero-waste events and recycling move-in and move-out days as well as attending three meetings/month.
