Sustainability Pledge Week

A brief description of the campaign:

Sustainability Pledge Week is a time every year in September when we promote the BHSU Sustainability Pledge through actively promoting taking the sustainability pledge by signing a banner in the Student Union on campus. The banner includes a list of names which is paired with a pledge online that is always accessible on our website: https://www.bhsu.edu/President/Sustainability/SustainabilityPledge
This pledge is geared towards students, employees, and community members. This commitment includes pledging to an aspect of sustainability in your everyday life, in your home, and in the technology that you use.

A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign:

We have a list of 272 names so far that have taken the pledge to incorporate aspects of sustainability into 3 different parts of their life.

Trick or Trash

A brief description of the campaign (2nd campaign):

In the fall of 2022, we put up boxes around campus to gather Halloween candy wrappers from both students and employees which were then sent in to be recycled into dog bags. This was a campaign to raise awareness about trash on campus and the impact it has when it adds up. Also, as an example of how to repurpose/recycle even materials you think you might not be able to.

A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign (2nd campaign):

We collected 1.35lbs of candy wrappers.
