The Elliott School of International Affairs, Law School and College of Professional Studies do not have departments. We have counted each of these schools as one department.

The School of Medicine and Health Sciences has been excluded from this analysis.

Four courses are listed under the Office of the Provost, so it is counted as one department. These courses are considered pan-university and therefore do not fit within any one department. They are placed within the Office of the Provost because they are supported by his office as exemplars of the kinds of cross-disciplinary approaches to education touted in the university's strategic plan.
