At Kyoto University, various kinds of student clubs and organization circulate “flyers” to solicit new students every April primarily in classrooms for first-year students. After they called for central administration to advocate collection and recycling of the flyers during freshers fair, collection boxes for flyers have been installed in each classroom manly used for freshman seminars and courses since 2010. They collect, sort, reuse and recycle the flyers in the boxes regularly, which exceeds easily 1 ton. To encourage effective and efficient distribution of flyers and mitigate environmental burdens, “Ecommit” create a list of classrooms that fist-year students mainly use, which is available on the website. According to a survey, 31% of the student clubs and organizations use the list and all the uses say that the list is useful.
