A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability, including the issues, bills, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:

The University supported the City of Montreal during its public consultation on its strategic plan for sustainable development (passed 2005) and transportation (passed 2007). The University supported the Province of Quebec's proposed law on sustainable development (passed 2006). The University is also strongly advocating more funding from the government for education (ongoing).
