In July 2017, SU moved over to an electronic procurement system called ProcureSU. The new system automates purchasing, receiving, and payment processing on campus. The move to an online procurement system has contributed to greening our SU campus by:
(1) Reducing paper usage: paper receipts are no longer accepted; all receipts must be uploaded electronically. Paper requisitions are no longer accepted; all purchase-related forms now have to be submitted online. No paper files are saved; all is being maintained electronically.
(2) Secondly, as part of the new procurement system, SU now works with only one vendor for office supplies (instead of the previous eight different vendors), resulting in fewer delivery trucks arriving on campus per week with fewer carbon emissions required from delivery services.
