A brief description of any internal sustainability professional development and training opportunities that the institution makes available to non-academic staff:

All staff are invited to an annual "Discovery Day", which is an all-day event for College employees to partake in a variety of professional development workshops that relate to the institution's strategic plan and fundamental committments (Health & Wellness, Environmental Sustainability, Reconciliation, Innovation and Diversity & Inclusion). Employees were encouraged to carpool to the event, bring their own dishes for lunch to reduce waste, and join in on a lunchtime discussion on sustainable lifestyle choices. Sustainable Selkirk hosts a sustainability-themed workshop each year. In 2022, the workshop was on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Selkirk College Indigenous Services Department facilitates training session to front-line employees related to Indigenous Student Engagement.

Every year, non-faculty staff are offered the opportunity to attend some form of sustainability-related training. Non-Academic staff have a professional development fund that they can draw upon to attend training.
