Does the institution use weather data or weather sensors to automatically adjust irrigation practices?:
A brief description of how weather data or sensors are used:
All of our athletic fields and several of our quad lawn areas are irrigated. For the most part our systems consist of the most up to date equipment designed to apply water efficiently.
All systems include a rain sensor which prevents irrigation from coming on after approximately a 1/4 inch of rain has fallen. The next step to improve on this is to have remote access that can be controlled by computer from home, work, or even cell phone to assist in even further precise irrigation application.
