Suzanne Wood from the Office of Sustainability presented the University's Decarbonization Plan for the SNEAPPA conference, and Kortni Wroten from the Office of Sustainability presented lessons learned from UMass Chan's installation of 78 charging ports on campus to the Leading By Example group organized by the State.

A brief description of the mentoring relationship and activities:

UMass Chan Medical School's Office of Sustainability has partnered with Beth Isreal Deaconess Medical Center in Boston MA to establish quarterly mentorship meetings to learn best practices and garner inspiration from one another in the specialized field of sustainable healthcare. Beth Isreal, while an independent hospital, is also a not-for-profit, 642-bed academic medical center and major teaching and research affiliate of Harvard Medical School. With UMass Chan having an associated teaching hospital, these two institutions share much in common and are mentoring one another through decarbonization, waste management, and engagement initiatives.

Yes

Through the University of Massachusetts Sustainability Council, campuses regularly conduct peer reviews on data reports which are required for annual reporting to the Board of Trustees under the Sustainability Policy - these metrics align with STARS reporting.


A brief description of other inter-campus collaborative efforts around sustainability during the previous year :

University of Massachusetts Sustainability Council hosts annual retreats to conduct strategic planning of system wide collaborative efforts.
