For each of the three schools at UMass Chan, faculty affairs was contacted to provide information about the number of courses taught by full-time, tenured, and tenure-track faculty. The figure reported above is an average of each of the schools' percentages of courses taught by these faculty members. Details below:
Graduate School of Medicine
- 90% Tenure/tenure Track
- 3% Non-tenure
- 7% Other
Graduate School of Nursing
There are a total of 16 courses in the GEP Program. Of those 16 courses, 13 are didactic and 3 are clinical practicum. All 13 didactic courses are taught by full-time faculty in the GEP Program (100%). The three clinical practicum courses include 6-8 sections with a faculty member as a clinical instructor in each group. While full-time faculty participate as clinical instructors on various clinical units, the Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing needs to hire over 20 contracted faculty during the academic year to fill the remaining clinical positions.
- Master of Science in Nursing & Interprofessional Leadership
There are a total of 13 courses in the new MS Program. Of the 13 courses, 11 (85%) are taught by full-time faculty in the MS Program. The remaining two courses are taught by contracted faculty.
- Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program
There are a total of approximately 28 courses in the DNP Program. Of the 28 courses, six courses are clinical or community service-learning practicums. Of the remaining 22 didactic courses, 19 (86%) are taught by full-time faculty in the DNP Program. The remaining three courses taught by contracted faculty.
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Program: There are a total of 15 courses in the PhD Program. All 15 didactic courses are taught by full-time faculty in PhD/DNP Program (100%).
Morningside Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences- 81% Tenure/tenure Track
