A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting:
First year students are not permitted to bring a vehicle to campus. The university is approximately 90% residential, and these students received permits to lots designated for residential students. They do not have access to lots which would be closer to classes, and therefore have no way to drive to class. Very few students are commuters, in the traditional sense.
