A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:

In the Spring of 2022, UW Eau Claire conducted its first round of anonymous stay interviews. On a monthly basis a list of 15-20 employees were randomly selected to meet with an HR representative and discuss the questions on the Stay Interview Survey. Survey questions cover job satisfaction, professional development, training, culture, EDI, wellness, management interaction, and any other thoughts, comments, concerns and employee might have. This is an ongoing process in our Employee Experience Program conducted in conjunction with our exit interviews. Exit interviews are conducted as needed, and evaluate the same criteria as the stay interviews. As of the fall 2023, 395 employees have been surveyed in a stay and exit interviews.

Responses are compiled into a quarterly report and forwarded to executive staff to review/implement suggestions. Responses assist UW Eau Claire in decision-making and planning.

A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation:

Employee Experience Program
A form is completed after the Employee Experience Interview and routed to the Executive Director of Finance and Administration for immediate action on issues raised. A quarterly report is generated compiling a summary of the data forwarded to executive staff to address concerns.

Bias Incident Reporting Form
This form is to report on any bias/hate incidents that occur on campus. The form will go to members of the Bias Incident Reporting Team (BIRT) once completed.
