A brief description of steps taken to ensure that e-waste is recycled responsibly, workers’ basic safety is protected, and environmental standards are met:

There are boxes and instructions for faculty staff and students to dispose of personal electronic waste around campus. The guidelines also include information about hazardous waste to assist in proper disposal, recycling, and in case there are emergencies. These collected materials are recycled and disposed of in accordance with strict regulations as mandated by the laws by the State of Massachusetts.


A brief description of the electronic waste recycling program for institution-generated materials:

All e-waste generated by the institution is collected at our distribution center and is routinely recycled and/or disposed of by a company certified in the proper recycling and or disposal of these devices. Where feasible, all computers, monitors, and larger electronics are recycled.


A brief description of the electronic waste recycling program for student-generated materials :

There is an electronic recycling program for the community for small electronics. Small boxes are placed in some residence halls as well as other academic buildings like the library and science center for electronic recycling.
