Does the institution have an ongoing program that offers incentives for academic staff in multiple disciplines or departments to develop new sustainability courses and/or incorporate sustainability into existing courses? :
Yes

A brief description of the incentive program(s):

We have a variety of opportunities for faculty to recieve a stipend for participating in either faculty learning communities or one-day sustainability professional development opportunities related to course re-design to include sustainability and climate change/resilence into their curriculum.

Faculty Learning Communtiies are developed and go for a full semester, meeting around 7 times throughout the semester. Faculty are expected to re-design their curriculum to include sustainability or climate change. In addition, they are expected to create a presentation on their course re-design.

Other programs include one-day professional development opportunities for faculty focused on sustainability and climate/resilience. During these one-day opportunities faculty learn about how to integrate sustainability and climate into their curriculum.

A brief description of the incentives that academic staff who participate in the program(s) receive:

Faculty who participate in the Faculty Learning Community receive between $250 to $500 depending on the hours and deliverables of each learning community. For one day professional development opportunities, faculty may receive a professional development stipend, and this is part of their retention, promotion and tenure (RTP).
