A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation :
During New Student Orientation, sustainability is incorporated into programming through the promotion of water filling stations, campus swag giveaways such as reusable water bottles, reusable straws, and reusable bags. The Sustainability Program has provided education about the importance of CSUs plastic bag/straw/water bottle ban, the university's recycling program, and using refillable water bottles.
Tabling and virtual sessions have also included educational outreach such as interactive information about the causes of climate change, and how to reduce GHG emissions in their everyday activities.
New Student Orientation includes sessions and presentations on financial wellness, navigating college as a first generation student, disability resource services, health and wellness, basic needs services, and diversity and inclusion programs.
