2012-13 statistics: 1,834 full and part-time faculty and staff
1,926 staff vehicle parking permits issued in Fiscal Year 2012-13 (parking permits issued in January are good for entire year). 1,926 permits/1,834 employees = 100%+ “employees” with registered vehicles. Per Public Safety, the “employee” class of permits include benefits-eligible and non-benefits-eligible employees (1,834), but also include Challenge Industries workers/supervisors (est. 5*); Sodexo Dining Service workers (est. 100 x 90%*), graduate students (est. 478 x 80% ), retirees (118 x 100%), vendor (90 x 100%) and Hangar Theatre (39 x 90%).
*these categories of employees also have full access to TCAT bus service
To calculate best estimate of number of campus employees with parking permits: 1,926 – 5 – 90 – 382 - 118 – 90 - 35) = 1,206
1,206 registered parking permit holders / 1,834 employees = 66%
38 motorcycle permits were issued / 1834 = 2%
8.8% using other means of transportation (transit, carpooling, biking, walking)
