Yes

A brief description of the programs sponsored by the institution to support underrepresented groups:

Mohawk College’s ‘Human Rights Policy’ establishes a commitment to provide a working and learning environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity. Every employee, contractor, visitor and student has the right to work and learn in an atmosphere of equal opportunity that is free from discrimination and harassment. The policy provides information on what constitutes discrimination and harassment, how to file a complaint, and the investigation and decision making process. For those who have experienced or witness discrimination, harassment, sexual violence or sexual assault, free professional counsellors are available through our Health Services Department. Recently, The College has adopted ‘Bringing in the Bystander’ training for staff and students dedication to the intervention and prevention of sexual violence.

Mohawk College also has an on-campus group, Social Inc., that provides staff and students with a positive space where human rights are respected and social inclusion and diversity are embraced. Social Inc. consistently offers events and workshops which hope to eliminate barriers and embrace diversity.
