Minimum pay grade for regular employees is $15.20/hour. Extended benefits include: supplementary health care (including vision), dental insurance, basic group life insurance, long term disability, critical illness insurance, personal spending account, health spending account, Public Service Pension Plan, Employee & Family Assistance Program, occupational death & dismemberment insurance, employment insurance, Workers' Compensation Board insurance, Canada Pension Plan and special leaves.

All graduate students and teaching assistants are covered under the Graduate Student Assistantship Collective Agreement which specify the minimum wage for these roles. The hourly minimum wage is well above the living wage and increases with seniority of the student.

As there is no central way to track the employees of contractors that work on-site this percentage has been entered as 0.

All support staff positions competing for positions longer than 12 months are evaluated by Job and Organizational Design in Central Human Resources. This is to ensure internal equity and to ensure university salaries are competitive in the market.

The university conducts an external market survey approximately every five years to ensure salaries are competitive with the market. The most recent survey conducted was in 2014 and results indicated that support staff salaries are approximately 13.4 per cent ahead of the Alberta market.
