All construction projects with a budget of $5 million or more are at least LEED certified at the University of Kentucky. The LEED process prioritizes the minimization of landfilled C&D materials and requires detailed tracking. Project managers maintain this information and can provide to Office of Sustainability upon request.
Prior to demo, UK brings in non-profits and allows them to get material out of the buildings for reuse. Smaller scale (< $600,000) renovation and construction projects are not currently tracking C&D diversion rates.
