A brief description of how the literacy assessment was developed and/or when it was adopted:

Assessments used by other universities were consulted. There was a previous version of the assessment that was administered pre-Covid. In 2022 we took a fresh look at the assessment and the assessments used by other universities. We made some changes to improve the assessment in 2022.

A brief description of how a representative sample was reached (if applicable) and how the assessment(s) were administered :

The assessment was administered to the entire student population. The assessment was offered to all students through various channels, including the student newspaper, weekly email announcements, social media, and announcements from professors. The assessment was created using Microsoft Forms. The post-assessment was made available to the entire student body – previous respondents were specifically targeted so they would take it again.
