The People's EcoChallenge 2022

A brief description of the campaign:

The People's EcoChallenge is a 21-day challenge to take action for a better shared future. The goal is to get individuals to commit to trying and doing new things. EcoChallenge is a digital platform that gamifies behavior change and makes the impacts measurable. There are more than 55 actions across five categories. The entire Stevens community was invited to participate in the People’s EcoChallenge. Students and employees took part in the event. Based on average points per member Stevens finished 45th out of 189 teams.


A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign:

From October 5-26, 2022, the Stevens community did the following:
- 11 pounds of food waste prevented
- 45 meatless or vegan meals consumed
- 623 miles not traveled by car
- 451 pounds of CO2 saved
- 2,960 minutes not spent in front of a screen
- 22 waste audits conducted
- 3 pounds of waste avoided
- 1,287 gallons of water saved
- 3 water footprints calculated
- 96 donations made
- 2 advocacy actions completed
- 7 documentaries watched
- 1,290 minutes spent outdoors
- 1,915 minutes spent learning
