Active Transport Strategy

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:

1. Partnership with the City of Gold Coast Council (CGCC):
*Facilitate sharing of existing CGCC active travel strategy information including:
*Public Transport
*Walking
*Bike/Scooter
*Ride Share
*Interactive Maps

Maps have been developed to assist students and staff to find their way to campus including:
*Location markers have been added for all TAFE Queensland campuses
*Pathway Decals – Cobranded ground decals have been developed to assist in promoting walking from the campus to nearby public transport locations or key services and facilities
*Robina Public walkway Signs - TAFE Queensland directional arrows, placed on Robina walkway signs.

2. Active Travel Incentive:
Creation of an incentive/ game whereby staff and students can collect virtual tokens via QR codes each day when they choose to come to the Robina campus by one of the nominated active travel methods. These tokens can be redeemed for services and or discounts at our Seedpod Café. The incentive will assist in measuring our benchmarks and successes in this space
*the incentive/game has been sponsored in partnership with CGCC
*TQGC has a survey developed to identify staff and students' use of active transport options
*combined with this we have incentives to participate including the chance to win an electric bike with a number of $50 Go-Cards.

3. LIME Bikes
TQGC has created a partnership with LIME Bikes, where they will house a number of their bikes on and near the campus. This will make it easier to decide to utilise these services. The negotiated 20% discount is applied at the payment point for students and staff when entering their TAFE Queensland e-mail address in the promotion area of the TAFE Queensland LIME app.

4. General
Other incentives to use active transport options include:
*bicycle parks and storage
*onsite repair stations
*skateboard and scooter storage
*electric charging stations
*incentivises staff and students to use public transport, bikes, scooters, walk or run to campus
*Scan QR codes to share how you got to campus and earn points towards food and drinks
*End of trip facilities.
