As Robina Campus is a new build, new equipment was purchased for the campus in the 2021/22 FY in preparation for opening in July 2022. A total of $503,851 US equipment was purchased. Robina Campus is fitted out mainly with DELL products. Most of the products (90% of FY expenditure) purchased are at the EPEAT Gold standard as per the Green Products Eco-Labels attachment. There are several Cisco Meraki wifi products in use. Cisco promotes its sustainability journey on https://meraki.cisco.com/about/sustainability/ and is looking to reduce its carbon footprint. Robina Campus staff use Samsung mobile phones. Samsung uses EPEAT criteria to rate its products. The mobiles used by staff are at EPEAT Gold rating.

All equipment is purchased with a life cycle of 3 years. TAFE Queensland partners with a company for a 100% recycled, reused, and repurposed result with no equipment going to landfill - see attachment.

Robina Campus follows the TAFE Queensland 'Procurement and Purchasing Procedure'. At this point, TAFE Queensland is updating all policies and procedures to align with the Queensland Government Sustainability Procurement policies. The Queensland Government Sustainable Procurement Policy & Guide uses the EPEAT standard as the basis for purchasing electronics for its agencies. For the past financial year of 2023/23, Robina Campus has procured $xxxx electronics.

As Robina Campus is a new build, new equipment was purchased for the campus. Robina Campus is fitted out mainly with DELL products for computers and laptops. Most of the products (90% of FY expenditure) purchased are at the EPEAT Gold standard.

Cisco Meraki provided the network infrastructure. Cisco promotes its sustainability journey on https://meraki.cisco.com/about/sustainability/ and is looking to reduce its carbon footprint.

Robina Campus staff use Samsung mobile phones. Samsung uses EPEAT criteria to rate its products. The mobiles used by staff are at EPEAT Gold rating.

TAFE Queensland (and therefore Robina Campus) has an arrangement with ACT Logistics Pty Ltd for the disposal of ICT assets. The policy is to replace ICT equipment every 3 years. TAFE ICT Services internally re-uses server and network hardware for student training aids and an internal spares pool and then moves this through the ACT Logistics disposal program to reduce environmental impacts.

Currently, TAFE Queensland disposes of all desktops and laptops via the ACT-managed service to ensure secure data disposal, maximise re-use and recycling of ICT hardware, and reduce landfill and other negative environmental impacts. TAFE Queensland receives revenue from the sale of disposed of assets and is also charged for disposal services (including secure data disposal) under whole-of-government pricing. Surplus funds from disposals are used to fund the physical deployment of new devices and reduce the cost of running annual refresh activities.
TAFE ICT Services is exploring a further 15% increase in revenue which could be achieved through an exclusive agreement with ACT Logistics. A number of recommendations to increase the buy-back price are being incorporated into the FY23 EUC Fleet Refresh project to further increase revenue generated from this activity.
