Materials recycled, composted, reused, donated, re-sold, or otherwise diverted :
1,920.04 Tons

Materials disposed in a solid waste landfill or incinerator :
3,901.32 Tons

A brief description of programs, policies, infrastructure investments, outreach efforts, and/or other factors that contributed to the diversion rate:

UC has recycling in all indoor spaces. Beyond such routine recycling, we also have many programs in place to recycle or reuse institutional assets that are no longer needed. For example, our Asset Management department oversees all electronic recycling and surplus equipment disposal. They host monthly sales of surplus equipment and look for opportunities to donate surplus items to local charities. Additionally, our Facilities Management department continually searches for new recycling opportunities, such as library materials and stadium seat covers.
