UC hosts McNair Scholars and the McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program designed to assist undergraduate students from disadvantaged backgrounds to prepare for doctoral studies.

UC also administers an Upward Bound program designed to motivate and provide academic skills for low income or first generation students interested in education beyond high school.

The University of Cincinnati administers an Upward Bound program designed to motivate and provide academic skills for low income or first generation students interested in education beyond high school.


A brief description of the institution's scholarships for low-income students:

Several scholarships exist for students of low-income or from an underrepresented group. Three different scholarships are available for students transferring from community and technical colleges. Another scholarship, the Darwin T. Turner Scholarship, is available for incoming freshman from an underrepresented group.

In addition to scholarships, UC offers several grant programs based on financial need, including Federal Pell Grants, Ohio College Opportunity Grants, and University Need Grants.
