End date Dec. 31, 2021 June 30, 2005

A brief description of when and why the GHG emissions baseline was adopted:

Our baseline year is the fiscal year of 2005, which is when Evergreen's first detailed emissions inventory was performed.

Adjusted net Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions per weighted campus user:
Performance year Baseline year
Adjusted net Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions per weighted campus user 2.05 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent 3.71 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent

Percentage reduction in adjusted net Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions per weighted campus user from baseline:
44.84

Gross floor area of building space, performance year:
1,654,158 Gross square feet

Floor area of energy intensive building space, performance year:

Adjusted net Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions per unit of EUI-adjusted floor area, performance year:
0.00 MtCO2e per square foot

A brief description of the institution’s GHG emissions reduction initiatives:

Evergreen has actively reduced total energy consumption (electrical and natural gas) by roughly 15% from our base year through an extensive suite of energy conservation projects and practices.

Data source(s) and notes about the submission:

For Scope 2 emissions, Evergreen purchases Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) that account for all electricity consumed (minus small in-house solar generation) on both its Olympia and Tacoma campuses. The college's Scope 2 emissions are therefore considered to be 0 MT CO2e.
