EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM:
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is confidential information, counseling and referral service for you and your immediate family members. The EAP is designed to provide you with direct access to experience professionals who will help you resolve your problems before they affect your health, family life or job performance.
Confidential Assistance is available for a broad range of personal and work-related concerns which may affect you or your family, such as:
• Relationship Issues
• Grief Support
• Family Transitions
• Separation and Divorce
• Retirement and life changes
• Parent/Child relations
• Childcare and elder care services
• Legal advisory service on family, estate and criminal law
• Adolescent services
• Nutritional counseling with a Registered Dietitian
Services can be delivered over the phone, through e-mail or through traditional face-to-face counseling.

E-COURSES:
Homewood Human Solutions eLearning provides self-paced, private, and personalized learning experiences designed to improve personal health and well-being and/or workplace effectiveness. You can register online for these courses in the Member area of their website: www.homewoodhumansolutions.com
Topics include:
• Resolving Conflict in Intimate Relationships
• Fundamentals of Effective Parenting
• Embracing Workplace Change
• Taking Control of Stress
• Taking Control of Your Career
• Effective Supervision
• Leading Change

WELLNESS WEDNESDAYS:
Wellness Wednesdays at NAIT include healthy living tips, services (e.g., monthly Wellness Wednesday free 5 minute massages), workshops, and Crave Wellness Wednesday feature at the Blue Plate in the Common Market) which offers a delicious and unique feature meal that has been analyzed for fat, fibre, sodium and added sugar.

HEALTH AND SAFETY SERVICES:
Health and Safety Services offer a variety of wellness initiatives/workshops/programs for areas including smoking cessation, healthy eating, anaphylaxis education, AED Heart Safe program, influenza clinics, scent awareness, and ergonomics.

GYM ACCESS:
Staff receive a free NAIT gym membership and have access to all fitness facilities at no cost. Memberships are also available for family members at a reduced rate.

ATHLETIC SERVICES:
The Recreation and Athletics departments offer various services throughout the year, including a variety of fitness classes (free classes are offered to students and/or staff throughout the year), personal trainers, and athletic therapy. At certain times of the year, staff members have the opportunity to get free personal training sessions by volunteering as clients for NAIT's Personal Fitness Trainer students.

TRAINING COURSES:
NAIT offers a variety of free training courses that all employees can register for, many of which pertain to health and wellness. Winter 2015 offerings include:
- "Eating 9 to 5! Solutions to Common Workday Challenges"
- "Creating Safe Spaces for LGBTQ Students - An Introduction"
- "Mental Health First Aid Training"
- "Simple Stress Solutions"
- "Stressed - Not Anymore!"
