A brief description of how the institution ensures compliance with sustainable building operation and maintenance guidelines and policies:

RRC's Environmental Sustainability Policy states that our buildings will be constructed and maintained to support energy conservation measures, incorporate environmentally preferable buidling materials, and consider LEED guildeines in renovation projects.

RRC buildings undergo various rating systems and follow practices to assess and ensure they are operating efficiently. For example, the Roblin Centre participated in Manitoba Hydro’s Commercial Building Optimization Program (CBOP). This 2 year project retrocommissioned and enhanced heating and cooling systems, which saved approximately 155,000 m3 of natural gas and 253,000 Kwh of electricity.
