Non-contractors working at Royal Roads University are considered employees of the Public Sector Employer covered and managed under the Public Sector Employers' Council (PSEC). PSEC manages all public sector compensation where PSEC's authority, relating to labour relations, is contained in the Public Sector Employers Act for the Province of British Columbia. The university is a member of the UPSEA, the University Public Sector Employers' Association, which provides leadership and development for relevant public policy issues. Compensation guidelines for RRU include compensation principals including performance-based rewards, transparent, fair and equitable, and alignment with the business model. RRU compensation plan consists of an evaluation of each position based on job size, market salaries, and individual performance. New compensation plans are approved by RRUs' BOG, the UPSEA, and PSEC.
Contractors of both Academic and Non-academic contracts are compensated based on market rate for the area.
