There are two projects that focused on alleviating food insecurity, hunger and poverty among students, both were launched by UM6P Sustainable Development in a close collaboration with the SD ambassadors Program:

**UM6P FOOD BANK
UM6P Food Bank is a social project that aims to tackle food insecurity and waste challenges through a system of regular and periodic donations in a local scale.
Objectives :
* This concept of food aid makes it possible to:
* Strengthen the social bond and promote social inclusion;
* Ensure access to healthy food of good quality for people in need;
* Involve the UM6P community members in the eradication of hunger and malnutrition.
Targets :
Each month, the donation will go to one of these targets to ensure their food supply, such as :
orphanages;
• Young girls shelters;
• Local disadvantaged communities;
• Solidarity social action of university clubs for rural regions.
Collection :
UM6P Food Bank is supplied by various contributions from the UM6P community in the form of regular donations. Each month, a distribution day will be organized in favor of underprivileged families or communities in the RHAMNA region.
Food Donations
• Donate Food items at our stands near the cafeteria and Hanouty. (Kindly check the list of accepted items)
• Cash Donations:
• Donate Cash through the donations Boxes (Find them near cafeteria, food trucks, and Hanouty)
• Pay it forward:
• Buy two, take one and donate the other by simply purchasing any item at the Hanouty (Shop).
Distribution :
The distribution is on a monthly basis for the benefit of the targets, it can also be part of a social or humanitarian campaign organized by the students (university clubs).
A volunteer form will be shared to give the chance to the UM6P community members to become agents of positive change.
SOLIDARITY FRIDGE
In collaboration with UM6P Facility Management and the Health Center, solidarity Fridge is a socio-environmental project which consists of the installation of a self-service fridge which receives surplus or unsold food available to the entire UM6P community wishing to enjoy it for free. The health center follows up closely with periodic food quality and hygiene control to guarantee the safety of the food products
