A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s):

The Mohamed VI Polytechnic University offers for the UM6P community the following services:

*** Insurance: All UM6P students benefit from the coverage of the School Civil Liability Insurance and Assistance.

*** Health center: The campus has an on-site infirmary with a specialized team, for consultation or first aid in case of discomfort or accident. An ambulance is also available if needed.

Medical Check-ups: Monday to Friday [08H00 - 12H00 / 14H00 - 18h00]

Medical assistance: 24H/7D

The UM6P Health center provides the following services :

1. Students Health Center: it has one doctor, lead nurse, and 2 nurses. It provides:

• Periodic, systematic and on-demand medical visits with the creation of a personal medical file.

• Diagnosis, treatment and coordination with the various specialists in order to ensure the monitoring of the state of health of all students of the university.

• Emergency and evacuation management if necessary

• Coordination with insurance companies (medical records, emergencies, medical assistance, medical insurance and care).

2. The occupational health service consists of a Doctor, 2 nurses and 2 paramedics. It provides assistance with all types of emergencies within the um6p and its annexes, The evacuations, health insurance files and reimbursement, consultations and medical monitoring for all um6p staff, service providers, visitors, guests and the annual and periodical recruitment sessions.

COVID WATCH SQUAD : a monitoring squad to watch over students and staff and remind them to wear their masks, respect social distancing and clean their hands regularly.

3. Psychology cell provides a safe space to listen, advise, help, guide and follow-up with UM6P community. It also offers socio-medical support and Individual monitoring of special cases. The Mental Health counseling team consists of a psychologist and a psychiatric nurse.

They perform psychological assessments for students and employees’ mental health issues. Moreover, they implemented preventive actions for better support and follow-ups.

They will be providing safe speech groups starting from the next academic year 2020/2021 and they will be also leading mental health awareness campaigns and conferences.

4. Food safety service consists of an industrial food safety Engineer and a Nurse, the service provides:

• Monitoring of the effective implementation of good hygiene practices in restaurants in every site of the University (storage, temperature chain, cleaning and disinfection, personal hygiene, etc.)

• Training restaurants staff;

• Follow-up files for Food and cleaning products suppliers and pest control companies;

• Suppliers audits;

• Monitoring of all accommodation’s hygiene and public places;

• Monthly sampling of food, surfaces and water for the Pasteur Laboratory’s inspection,

• Interpretation of laboratory samples results and implementation of action plans;

• Groundwork for the International Standard ISO 22000 - 2018 certification of UM6P Food court, cafeteria and food trucks.

5. Health monitoring of events service guarantees the unfolding of events in optimal conditions by ensuring the health and food safety of the workers, via the permanent presence of a nurse, an equipped ambulance and food safety service.

6. Well-being also involves the regular exercise and sports activities which are strongly encouraged on campus. UM6P offers its students and employees a wide range of physical and sports activities in good sports facilities, both indoors and outdoors that include - 2 turf mini football pitches - 4 sports courts (tennis, basketball, handball volleyball) - A 25-meter semi-Olympic swimming pool - Fitness room - A weight room - A dance hall - A combat gym (https://www.um6p.ma/en/about/campus-life)

7. Staff Free Language courses.

UM6P language lab has initiated the English and French free languages trainings to the benefit of all UM6P community. Each staff is invited to do a test in order to be appointed for a class of their level. The courses are diversified and tackle many interesting topics to enhance the general culture and knowledge of its workers. Moreover, it also offers a class of business French and English to develop your skills in negotiation or pitching projects.

8. Staff kids language tutoring classes

Human Rights department in collaboration with language lab launched tutoring classes in language and other subjects for the benefit of the STAFF children at a very symbolic price.

9. Launch of the first housing campaign

Social HR Team launched a housing campaign for the benefit of UM6P staff (Academics and non-academics) to ensure a secure, clean and respected environments for the workers and their families. The residences of the university are well-equipped and offer the top-quality machines, tools, and utensils for their tenants. The apartments are very spaced, and the furniture is rigid and modern. The residence has its own parking spaces and a big garden between houses.

10. Meditation Sessions by SD Ambassador

The SD Ambassador from GreenTech Institute organizes periodical session of breathing and meditation to his fellow peers. Usuallt, the sessions are organized either very early in the morning before their classes or between exams to relieve stress and tension.

11. Speak Up Initiative – Say No to Violence

Say No to Violence is an initiative launched by the president office, led by PR & Community Engagement office in collaboration with Students Organization, leadership and engagement office and the registrar destined to all UM6P students in order to facilitate and ensure that they speak up if they are victim of any kind of discrimination, violence or bullying inside the campus.  

It aims to create a safe environment for its community, raise awareness and give students a free and transparent voice on sensitive issues facing young people today. 

The SpeakUp initiative will allow them to express yourself confidentially and ask for help within the university, without the risk of judgement and without taboos, on issues that you encounter, such as bullying, sexual harassment and all other kinds of harassment in real or virtual settings. 


12. No Tobacco day

Mohammed VI Polytechnic University celebrated "No tobacco day" to show its sustainable engagement in order to create a safe place for everyone. In this sense, the General Affairs Office has built smoking Zones all over the campus. These zones aim to mitigate gradually the negative effects of cigarettes and ensure better air quality for the community members. An awareness campaign was shared with all UM6P community with highlighted healthy practices and methods to quit smoking.

13. Gala Dinner

Human Capital, PR&Community Engagement, Staff representatives have collaborated to organize a UM6P Staff Gala Dinner. It was the first of its kind since the inauguration of the University to get all the community members to strengthen the team spirit and get to know all colleagues from different programs or departments. It was an opportunity to meet work teammates outside of a professional attire around a convivial dinner with Music and entertainment.

14. Diabetes and Hypertension screening

During the holy month, it is sometimes challenging for people diagnosed with diabetes or high blood pressure to carry on their fast, there is actually an exception for Muslims to not fast if people have medical conditions but some of them prefer fasting. In this sense, to prevent any kind of medical complications, UM6P Health Center has organized a screening campaign to all UM6P community members to check diabetes and blood pressure.

15. UM6P Family Day

UM6P PR&Community Engagement team has organized in 2022 the first Annual Edition of UM6P Family day. It consists of opening the University door to all Staff families to discover the university life as their work place. The day was full of immersive activities adapted to all ages to accommodate the staff children so they can learn more about UM6P programs in a fun way. This first edition has witnessed the participation of +1458 attendees (871 adults and 587 children)

16. International Day of Diabetes

UM6P Health Center and Sport Pole has collaborated to organize numerous activities during the international day of diabetes to spread awareness about this disease and screen people to have an early diagnosis in order to prevent any future medical conditions. Moreover, this international day has known a significant presence of the community members to learn about the sport activities and its effects on diabetes as well as mental well-being and its impact on diabetes.

Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is sustainably engaged to create a safe place for everyone. In this sense, the General Affairs Office has built Smoking Zones all over the campus. These zones aim to mitigate gradually the negative effects of cigarettes and ensure a better air quality for the community members.
UM6P Community is invited to respect the designated smoking zones and is highly encouraged to adopt some of the best practices mentioned below.
