A brief description of the program, including examples of peer-to-peer outreach activities:

We recently started the Learner Insights recycling program in partnership with the Intercultural Centre on campus. Once a semester, a student volunteer from the BVC Green team does an interactive presentation to 12-15 students about proper waste sorting techniques on campus. The participating students are then encouraged to train their peers and spread the word across campus (informally).

A brief description of how the student educators are selected:

The student educator is chosen by the Sustainability Coordinator. Students are chosen if they are passionate about the topic, willing to undergo public speaking training with the Intercultural Centre, punctual, and represent the BVC Green team well.

A brief description of the formal training that the student educators receive to prepare them to conduct peer outreach:

The student educator meets with the Sustainability Coordinator to learn the presentation, and the Intercultural Centre Coordinator to practice their public speaking skills a few times in advance of the presentation.

A brief description of the financial and/or administrative support the institution provides to the program (e.g. annual budget and/or faculty/staff coordination):
