Does the institution participate in a carpool/vanpool matching program?:
Yes

A brief description of the program:

The University recently installed a physical rideshare board, The ORB (Otter Rideshare Board) at the entrance of the Student Center, and its been getting great usage!

For online rideshare (carpool/vanpool) and bike-commute partner matching, we have access to the larger regional 511 system for the San Francisco Bay Area. Due to its lack of local context, a 511 system for the Monterey Bay Area is being developed and should go live in approximately two years. The local Metropolitan Planning Organization, AMBAG, has a program to support rideshare matching within the 511 system, and provide support programs and incentives to encourage alternative commuting.

The University has been evaluating rideshare matching systems solely for CSUMB usage, and will pursue the launch of a system when funding allows.
