Does the institution have strategies in place to safely dispose of all hazardous, special (e.g. coal ash), universal, and non-regulated chemical waste and seek to minimize the presence of these materials on campus?:
Yes

A brief description of steps taken to reduce hazardous, special (e.g. coal ash), universal, and non-regulated chemical waste:

It is the policy of the University to maintain, insofar as it is reasonably within the control of the campus to do so, a campus environment for students, faculty, staff, and the public that will not adversely affect their health
and safety nor subject them to avoidable risks of accidental injury or illness. No student or employee shall be required to perform any task which is determined to be unsafe or unreasonably hazardous. In addition, it is the policy of the University to conduct all business and activities in a manner that places environmental protection as a high priority.

To accomplish this, the University shall provide facilities and equipment that meet all federal, state and local environmental protection, health and safety laws and regulations, and will promulgate appropriate policies, standards and procedures for governing University Environmental Protection, Health and Safety (EPHS)
Programs.

All faculty and staff are to ensure that safe and healthful conditions and practices are provided and followed in their areas of control, and all members of the campus community are to cooperate fully with all aspects of the
various University EPHS programs.

A brief description of how the institution safely disposes of hazardous, universal, and non-regulated chemical waste:

There is a Hazardous Waste Management Program to ensure safe and responsible management of hazardous waste and to meet all applicable Federal, State and local regulations. A program for managing the generation, collection, transportation, transfer, recycling, recovery, disposal, handling, processing, storage, and treatment of hazardous waste. It includes administrative, financial, legal and planning activities as well as operational aspects of hazardous waste handling, disposal and resource recovery. Procedures include appropriate handling, storage and labeling, accumulation time, inspection of waste collection areas, hazardous waste pick up and disposal, training, emergency and non-emergency response.

The EPHS shall arrange for the disposal of hazardous waste and maintain a file and log of all hazardous waste
manifests.
