Though the institution does not have an SRI fund, NYU does have a Sustainability Fund that offers "Green Grants" to pilot projects. These grants are awarded by a selection committee that includes students, faculty and staff representation. The NYU Reynolds "Be a Changemaker" Fund also offers competitively-awarded grants to student social entrepreneurship projects.
NYU does not currently have and has not developed concrete plans to create an actual student-managed socially-responsible investment fund.
The NYU Sustainability Task Force has flagged university investment and endowment-related concerns as a topic of increasing importance in the broader discourse of sustainability, and will return to the issues raised in this and other credits in the coming years.
