Number of students undertaking volunteering was derived from a student wide survey undertaken in April 2018. These results are therefore based on a representative sample of the UCC community.
One pathway that students volunteer through in UCC is the UCC Works Scheme https://www.ucc.ie/en/careers/uccworks/ . Students that volunteer through UCC works dedicate and average of 30 hours over the year. However, there are many other ad hoc volunteering endeavors undertaken by UCC students so the total number of hours presented is an under-estimate.
