In January 2017, FIE conducted a survey (via SurveyMonkey) of the Foundation House based staff to assess their use of public transportation as well as other sustainable actions. 47 employees were sent the survey and 33 responded; the information and percentages shared is based on a sample of 33. Where percentages are not shared, no applicable information was collected.

FIE has partnered with ClimateCare (https://climatecare.org/) since 2012 to tackle the impact associated with the business travel of our London, Dublin, and US-based staff and offset our CO₂ emissions. ClimateCare is an organization that offsets global greenhouse gas emissions on behalf of companies and individuals. These offsets are made through a range of projects around the world that not only make real reductions in carbon emissions, but also make a difference to people’s lives in some of the world’s least developed countries.
In 2016, FIE offset 109.11 tonnes of CO2 at a cost of £818.31. FIE also added our US-based team to the ClimateCare scheme, including their business travel in our 2016 reporting; they will be included in all future offsetting reporting.
