While students do not participate directly in governance they are encouraged to share their feedback through student feedback surveys and focus groups; sustainability questions are included in the end of program feedback survey and evaluate the level of participation of students in sustainability initiatives and encourages them to evaluate current initiatives and propose new ones which could be implemented for the benefit of their peers to come.

Being a third party provider many of our partners in the US have employed university program ambassadors who are responsible for representing their peers on the program while abroad. FIE has also developed a structured ambassadors program in collaboration with partners to allow students from different institutions to actively represent their peers on the program.

In addition, a new initiative is being developed to give students further opportunities to share their opinion, recommendations and track what the company is doing to address them. A 'Student Voice' page will be added to the FIE's website to include 'you said,we did' section where FIE will share what actions it has taken to address students' feedback, testimonials section, as well as 'idea form' which students can use to submit their ideas for improvements, new initiatives and projects.

No but there is a wide range of committees where staff members actively contribute towards the governance and operations of the company. For each committee, staff are elected from each department or depending on their expertise and relevance to the focus of the committee. Staff have the opportunity to participate in one of the following committees:

• Teaching and Learning Committee

• Emergency Incident Review Group

Faculty are represented on the highest governing body of the organisation -- the Senior Leadership Team. FIE's Chief Academic Officer who is an integral part of the team is also an active faculty teaching the FIE course, 'Food, Society and Culture in Britain'.

Faculty are further represented on the Teaching and Learning Committee whose main goal is to oversee Academic delivery, quality and standards, as well as develop Academic policy. The committee is comprised of four course convenors (faculty members), the FIE Academic Team, The Director of Administration and Academic Services.
