Products: Energy use, life cycle cost and first cost are a consideration in the purchase of all energy/consuming products.
Projects go a step further and require the bidder or the design professional (depending on the project size) to include a simple life cycle cost analysis.

The College engages in three fundamental areas of grounds maintenance: Trees, beds/shrubs, and grass ("turf"). Each setting requires unique approaches to reduce the use of herbicides, insecticides and fungicides in order to ensure the health and safety of humans and pets and to minimize negative impact on the environment.

Haverford has implemented a green building policy for all new construction and renovation on campus. This policy states that all new and renovated projects shall achieve the equivalency of a LEED Gold certification.
