For next year:

Each year, a committee of students, staff and faculty choose one book which every newly admitted student receives free-of-charge. The book is always focussed on an environmental or social sustainability issue or topic. New students read the book over the summer and the year is themed on the book's topic. During orientation, book discussions are hosted and the author of the book speaks at the Induction Ceremony. In the 2012 -13 academic year, the book chosen was Bitter Medicine, a memoir on the effects of mental illness on a family. The book chosen for the 2013-14 academic year is No Impact Man, the story of a man who engages in a year long experiment to produce no net environmental impact.
