A brief description of the technology used:

LED site lighting is the standard for all new capital projects and has been implemented in a number of areas including the Taylor Family Digital Library Quadrangel, and site areas adjacent the Energy, Environment, and Experiential Learning (EEEL); and Yamnuska Hall residence; and the International House residence. Older high pressure sodium site lighting across campus are being replaced with LED lighting over time.

The University is implementing a campus wide exterior lighting retrofit to LED fixtures. LED fixtures have been successfully incorporated in the EEEL building and have become the standard replacing incandescent and compact fluorescent bulbs in those applications.
