A brief description of the wildlife habitat program, policy, or practice:

The State Botanical Garden of Georgia and Whitehall Forest were designated as Georgia’s 49th Important Bird Area (IBA) at a ceremony in May. IBAs are places that provide essential habitat for one or more species of bird, whether in breeding season, winter or during migration. The designation recognizes exceptional bird and wildlife habitat that is vital to the health and sustainability of bird populations worldwide.
