PhD degree in water sciences

A brief description of the graduate degree program (3rd program):

Water is an essential global issue that is constantly gaining in importance, as it is of concern to society as a whole. Specialized water scientists with multidisciplinary skills are rare and highly sought-after on the environmental job market.
Understanding the problems of water resources and aquatic environments requires input from a number of scientific disciplines, and solving them calls for a real and integral multidisciplinary approach. The PhD program in water sciences aims to train specialized researchers capable of identifying and solving these problems, and thus responding to social needs in this sector. It enables students to broaden and deepen their knowledge of water, while specializing in one of the related fields of study.
As part of an experienced research team, you could design electrolytic techniques and oxidative processes to improve municipal and industrial wastewater treatment systems. You could also study the impact of northern lakes on the global carbon cycle in the context of global warming.
