All full-time students are eligible for financial support at INRS. All full-time students, except for students from one specific joint program, receive a scholarship at INRS. Furthermore, numerous student jobs are offered within the university for those who do not receive a scholarship automatically. More: https://inrs.ca/en/studies/scholarships-and-financial-aid/
INRS offers numerous scholarships to make education accessible and affordable for students. There are universal scholarships, emergency scholarships, international scholarships, and also scholarships dedicated to specific situations, as was the case during the COVID pandemic.
Furthermore, numerous student jobs are offered within the university.

A brief description of notable policies or programs to support non-traditional students:
In 2021, INRS has put in place a financial support for students during parental leave. INRS is the first and only university establishment in Quebec to set up a program to financially support students on parental leave. Our community has access to three "Centre de la petite enfance (CPE)" (childcare facilities). In Quebec, CPE are subsidized by the government and cost only CAD$8,50/day. The CPE du Pic Bois is a childcare facility that offers priority to people who work or study in the industrial park where the AFSB centre is located in Laval. The facility is located on the grounds of the university (we have a emphyteutic lease with them). Students and staff of our Laval Campus (23% of our total population) have priority access to the program (see p. 4 of the Régie interne https://pic.cpedupic.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/R%C3%A9gie-interne-2021.pdf). In Quebec City, our community has priority access to the CPE La Butte à Moineaux, which is located within the Université du Québec (UQ) building (INRS is a member of the UQ network), right next to our downtown building (38% of our total population) (see https://www.laplace0-5.com/notice?id=cf1b7079-8532-3cd7-952a-3179404f3245). Also in Quebec City, people working in our laboratories in the technological park (1% of our population) have priority access to the CPE Les petits papillons, located across the street.
INRS also provides an online platform where any student within the community can post housing offers to assist students in need. This tool was developed in 2023 in response to the housing crisis affecting Quebec.
