A brief description of the institution's initiatives to shift individual attitudes and practices in regard to energy efficiency:

Since 2019, several natural gas strategies have been deployed to improve energy efficiency in the building. In 2019, fresh air ventilation rates were adjusted and variable frequency drives were added for the building’s main ventilation unit fans. The following year, the efficiency of the natural gas humidifiers was improved.

Ventilation for indoor air quality meets the ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2018 criteria.


A brief description of Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting and other energy-efficient lighting strategies employed by the institution:

The entire building is lit with LED fixtures. The majority of the meeting rooms have occupancy sensors to automatically turn off the lights when unoccupied. The building has lighting relay panels to automatically turn off the lighting when not in use. Only the emergency lighting remains on.

A brief description of the institution's initiatives to replace energy-consuming appliances, equipment, and systems with high efficiency alternatives:

A feasibility study is currently underway to replace the building’s main ventilation units and HVAC infrastructure. The integration of the following efficiency measures is being evaluated: aerothermal, building exhaust air energy recovery, integration of efficient fans and the addition of efficient condensing boilers.
