Has the institution engaged in a structured assessment process during the previous three years to improve diversity, equity and inclusion on campus?:
Yes

A brief description of the assessment process and the framework, scorecard(s) and/or tool(s) used:

Université TÉLUQ is in the process of conducting its organizational diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) audit. An environmental scan has been initiated, as well as a review of recruitment practices. In addition, faculty members were surveyed on their perception of the DEI within their department, and within the University as a whole. We created and administered two faculty surveys. Also, we created grid interview questionnaires for this purpose. We found that we were not systematically training our evaluation and selection committees in matters such as conflict of interest and unconscious bias. Consequently, we have remedied the situation.
In addition, Université TÉLUQ must comply with Quebec laws regarding equity and equality in employment. Therefore, in 2020, it updated its equal access to employment program. This program identifies any situation within Université TÉLUQ relating to groups designated by Quebec laws.

Does the assessment process address campus climate by engaging stakeholders to assess the attitudes, perceptions and behaviors of employees and students, including the experiences of underrepresented groups?:
Yes

Does the assessment process address student outcomes related to diversity, equity and success?:
No

Does the assessment process address employee outcomes related to diversity and equity?:
Yes

A brief description of the most recent assessment findings and how the results are used in shaping policy, programs, and initiatives:

At Université TÉLUQ, we surveyed faculty members on their perception of DEI in general as well as within their respective departments. We obtained responses that we were able to aggregate according to each of the underrepresented groups. One of the things that emerged from these results was that there was little awareness of DEI within the institution. As a result, we have taken a number of actions to increase the visibility of our DEI-related efforts through more communications. We have also trained, and continue to train, faculty on DEI, unconscious bias, excellence, and DEI in research. In short, we are concerned about the situation of underrepresented groups and actively seek, where appropriate, to improve their plight as well as their representation within the institution.

Are the results of the most recent structured diversity and equity assessment shared with the campus community?:
Yes

A brief description of how the assessment results are shared with the campus community:

They have been shared with the Executive Committee as well as the Institutional DEI and Faculty DEI committees. We are waiting until we are further along in our process to share results with the entire university community.
