Yes

A brief description of the student group:

At UAF sustainability started with students and was first organized by the Sustainable Campus Task Force (SCTF), a grassroots student group focusing on local sustainability issues. Each year it takes on a different flavor of sustainability. Whether it is initiating a bike program, purchasing vending machine timers, engaging students about local food or creating a proposition for supplementing the school's coal electrical plant with renewable resources, SCTF is full of passionate individuals accomplishing great feats. Their legacy was made when a vision became a reality with the passing of the SIREN (Students For Renewable Energy Now) Fee, which now funds the Office of Sustainability and an extensive student grant program. This was a student imposed fee that was voted for in student elections by the student body and truly shows a turning point in the student mentality towards sustainability at UAF. SCTF is also responsible for the annual Earth Day Fair which has repeatedly won UAF's Best Student Event.
