Yes

A brief description of the institution’s program(s) to encourage faculty research in sustainability:

The Office of Global Learning Initiatives (OGLI) and the Office of the Provost has a FIU Global Learning Faculty Fellowship that fund research collaborations between faculty and undergraduate students in order to generate new knowledge and new ways of facilitating engaged classroom global learning. This program is designed to cultivate global learning models that combine research mentorship and innovative active learning strategies. Funded projects will focus on increasing students’ global awareness, global perspective, and global engagement. Global learning faculty fellowship research will build institutional expertise at FIU and expand knowledge of effective global learning strategies in higher education. Proposals should describe a well-defined project that enhances students’ global awareness, global perspective, and global engagement. Strong proposals will address one of the 2010-2015 Worlds Ahead Strategic Plan’s collaborative content themes: the arts, environment, globalization, or health.
