A brief description of the graduation pledge program:
The Office of University Sustainability, with FIU GoGreeen Team volunteers, participates in summer, fall and spring commencement fairs to promote the Green Graduation Pledge. Graduates read the pledge and sign a banner that will be displayed during commencement with all the signatures of the graduates who took the pledge. Currently, those taking the pledge also receive a green ribbon they can display on their gown at commencement. The actual pledge comes from the Graduation Pledge Alliance and all numbers are reported back to them. During the Spring 2013 commencements, over 2,000 graduates took the pledge.
